Former Liverpool footballer Dietmar Hamann claims that the "Reds" did not make a mistake by signing a contract with rising Brazilian star Roberto Firmino.
Liverpool yesterday officially announced that the 23-year-old forward, currently playing for the Brazilian national team in the Copa America tournament, has become a member of their team for 39 million euros.
"I spoke to people who worked with Firmino. He is a player with more of a European football mentality than Brazilian. He is an intelligent player and has excellent chances to shine in the Premier League," said the German.
"Last season I saw him play a few times and I believe he will be a great player in England. The sum paid for him is completely worth it, as Firmino is a rising Brazilian star.
Other clubs are paying even more, so if you want to have the best players in your team, you have to pay big money for them," added D. Hamann.
