Former French national team player Deschamps has been coaching the Monaco team since 2001. In the 2002/2003 season, the coach led the team to the top of the French championship, and this year "Monaco" performed very successfully in the Champions League, where they only lost in the final. "Monaco" president Pierre Svara also confirmed that contracts have been extended with all technical staff of the club. Deschamps identified the retention of Jerome Rothen and Ludovic Giuly in the team as one of the most important upcoming tasks.
