The young Brazilian talent Diego left the "Santos" club and moved to the team. The player cost 7 million euros for the Portuguese club.

The 19-year-old defender recently finished his performance at the "Copa America" tournament with the Brazilian national team. Diego stood out by scoring a penalty kick from 11 meters during a penalty shootout in the final match against Argentina. He began playing for the "Santos" club's starting lineup in 2002.

"I am leaving 'Santos' only because of a strong club," said Diego. "Porto seems to be a great club for my dream to play in Europe to come true."

"I mostly played as a left side defender in the 'Santos' club. In that position, I could use my strong shot. In the national team, I played more on the right side, but if I play in Deco's position, I won't have any problems. I just don't like being compared."

The promising defender has signed a five-year contract.
