In the Russian championship on Sunday, six matches of the 25th round took place. One of the crucial victories against one of the leaders, "Lokomotiv," was achieved by "Dinamo" in the Moscow derby and strengthened their hope to stay in the Premier League. Losing points and occupying the fourth place was "Zenit," who allowed the victorious "Rubin" to come closer, while "Tom," "Saturn," and "Amkar" won at home with minimal leads.
The match between "Dinamo" and "Lokomotiv" began very actively for both teams. Andrius Skerla's Tomsk "Tom" club won 1-0 at home after a tough battle against Nalchik's "Spartak." The hosts secured victory in the 80th minute with a goal from Aleksey Bugaev. The Lithuanian defender played the entire match for the winning team, while the referee issued five yellow cards to each team during the game.
Ramenskoye's "Saturn" with Edgaras Česnauskis also won 1-0 after Igor Lebedenko's goal in the 77th minute against Vladivostok's "Luch-Energiya." The Lithuanian defender started in the lineup, but was substituted in the 62nd minute.
St. Petersburg's "Zenit" and "Moskva" shared a point with a 1-1 draw. The hosts took the lead early in the match after an goal from Andrei Arshavin. Later, "Zenit" had several opportunities to increase the lead, but Arshavin and Aleksandr Kerzhakov failed to capitalize on them and were punished for it. In the fourth minute of added time, Piotr Bystrov equalized the result after a penalty kick, so Dick Advocaat's protégés missed the opportunity to move up to third place.
