The Football Association (FA) on Wednesday evening announced the verdict on Bernardo Silva's post on social media.
Earlier this season, Portugal shared a childhood photo of Benjamin Mendy on his Twitter account and compared it to the hero of the "Conguitos" chocolate candy packaging.
This player's post caused a real storm in the English media, and the FA immediately began an investigation into a possible racist insult.
B. Silva had to send an explanation for this behavior, but even that did not save him from punishment - he received a one-match suspension. He will be forced to miss the upcoming match against London's "Chelsea" after the international break.
The footballer was also fined £50,000 sterling.
