Sergi Roberto's season is over: the Catalan midfielder has been disqualified for four matches for hitting Madrid's "Real" defender Marcelo.
The 26-year-old defender earned a red card in Sunday's "El Clasico" clash when, at the end of the first half, he angrily struck Marcelo in the face with his fist after being pushed by the Brazilian.
The blow was not delivered with full force, but for such behavior, the Spanish Football Federation decided to punish S. Roberto with a four-match disqualification.
S. Roberto will miss the remaining three matches of the season and the first match of the next season's Spanish Super Cup.
This season, the defender scored one goal and provided eight assists in 48 matches played.
