Distribution of IFFHS awards, main prize awarded to L. Modric

The International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) announced the best football players and coaches of the year.

Founded in Germany in 1984, the organization annually awards players and coaches, with UEFA Champions League winners or successful national team players and coaches often dominating.

The best football player of the year was recognized as Luka Modric, who received 272 votes. Behind him with 144 votes was Lionel Messi, Eden Hazard came in third, and Cristiano Ronaldo was placed in the tenth position.

The best goalkeeper of the year was chosen as Thibaut Courtois, who was recognized as the best in the world football championship. Behind him were Hugo Lloris and Gianluigi Buffon.

The best club coach was Zinedine Zidane, who won the UEFA Champions League and then left Real Madrid. The best national team coach, as expected, was Didier Deschamps.
