In the English "Premier" league, the club currently holding 8th place has signed a new three-year contract with forward Dave Kitson, thus keeping him at the club until 2010.

The 27-year-old footballer's previous contract was set to expire in June 2008, but the player resolved all issues by signing a three-year contract and will remain at the Madejski Stadium until 2010.

D. Kitson, who moved from "Cambridge" to "Reading" for a sum of 350,000 pounds sterling in December 2003, was the top scorer for the team coached by Steve Coppell in the last two seasons.

He helped "Reading" clinch the top spot in the Championship last year and secure a promotion to the highest division of the English "Premier" league. However, this season, where "Reading" currently holds 8th place, he did not play for six months due to a knee injury.

D. Kitson joined the team in January of this year and managed to score 2 goals in 10 matches.

In the very first day of the Premier league, he scored the first goal for "Reading" when the team fell behind 2-0 to "Middlesbrough" but managed to come back and win 3-2.

On Tuesday, "Reading" signed a new two-year contract with head coach Steve Coppell, and this season also extended contracts with goalkeepers Marcus Hahnemann and Adam Federici, defenders Glen Little, Graeme Murty, Brynjar Gunnarsson, Ivar Ingimarsson, Stephen Hunt, and the top scorer of the season Kevin Doyle.
