On Saturday evening, an intriguing battle of the leaders took place in Spain's "La Liga" championship.
"Barcelona," at home, had to acknowledge the superiority of Madrid's "Atletico" with a score of 1:2 in the final moments of the match.
The Catalans controlled the game from the very beginning, and this eventually paid off in the 30th minute when Pedri put the hosts ahead.
Interestingly, "Atletico" did not make a single shot on goal during the first half of the match.
Despite their passivity in the first half, "Atletico" equalized in the 60th minute when Rodrigo de Paul scored with a long-range shot.
"Barca" dominated the field in the second half as well, but this ultimately turned against the Catalans. In the 96th minute, Alexander Sorloth, at the forefront of an excellent "Atletico" counterattack, snatched victory for his team.
This result allowed "Atletico" to secure first place in the league standings.
