„Montreal Impact“ star Didier Drogba rejected the possibility of returning to London's „Chelsea“ team during the MLS season break.
Although the player did not reject the possibility of staying in shape by training with the „Chelsea“ team, he does not see himself as another player who arrives in Europe to play after the MLS season with a short-term lease agreement.
„Playing in Europe? The idea doesn't tempt me too much. I need to rest and prepare for the new season. Training with „Chelsea“? Why not? However, this is something that I should first discuss with the current team. I signed a one-and-a-half-year contract and always stick to the conditions of the contract,“ - said the player, as reported by AFP.
Although the striker complained that this season required a lot of physical strength, he was happy with the experience in the new championship.
„This season was very difficult for me physically, as I did not have enough time to prepare for it. But I'm very happy playing in this league, visiting new stadiums and new cities“, - Drogba talked about his experience this season.
The former Ivory Coast national team star scored 12 goals in 14 matches this season, and withdrew from the MLS championship along with his team after a loss in the knockout round to the „Columbus Crew“ team in extra time.
