Madriddo "Atletico" coach Diego Simeone was delighted by the excellent performance of club newcomer Fernando Torres in the King's Cup match.
The 30-year-old Spaniard impressed "Real" fans with two goals and helped the visitors secure a place in the next round of the tournament.
"We are happy with Torres' arrival, although there were doubts from some people," the coach said.
"I am happy for him, as well as for those fans who came to congratulate him upon his return to the 'Vicente Calderon' stadium.
We played a good game, having to compete against the best team in the world.
We behaved wisely on the field, and in the second half of the match, we did a lot of work."
