Former Spain national team striker Diego Tristan and Argentina national team defender Lionel Scaloni have been released from La Coruna.

Both players did not fit into head coach Joaquin Caparros' plans for the upcoming season, but did not attract any club until the closing of the transfer window on Thursday night.

"Neither Scaloni nor I deserved such treatment, as we have given so much to this club," said D. Tristan to the Spanish sports newspaper "Marca" on Friday. "Now we don’t have a club where we could play. We intend to file a complaint with the players' association."

Since both players were not registered within "Deportivo," according to FIFA rules, they can join any club at any time.

D. Tristan, who represented the Spanish national team 15 times, arrived at "Deportivo" in 2000 from "Mallorca."

Meanwhile, L. Scaloni, a 28-year-old who participated in the World Cup in Germany with the Argentina national team, arrived at "Deportivo" in 1998. During the second half of the past season, the Argentine spent time on loan at "West Ham" in London.
