The 31st round of the "TOPsport A League" began with a very emotional encounter in Alytus between the local DFK "Dainava" and Marijampolė's "Sūduva". The match was suspended after the first half, with the visitors leading 2:1.

During the halftime break, an incident occurred as the referees left the field, after which it was decided to terminate the match. The decision regarding the outcome of this meeting will be made by the Disciplinary Committee of the Lithuanian Football Federation.

The encounter started more successfully for the players from Alytus, who took the lead in the 5th minute when Aaron Olugbogi assisted Davor Rakičiui, and he sent the ball into the net.

In the 37th minute, the Marijampolė team equalized. After Volodymyr Krynski's foul against Nikolaj Solodovnikov and a VAR review, a penalty was awarded, which was converted by Steve Lawson. Just a couple of minutes later, "Dainava" earned another penalty when Oskaras Lukošiūnas committed a foul.

The latter received a red card, and S. Lawson converted the second penalty. Additionally, in the second minute of stoppage time, A. Olugbogi received a second yellow card.

The volcano of emotions finally erupted just before halftime – due to disputes with the referee, "Dainava" goalkeeper coach Roman Nesterenka and head coach Sergejus Kuznecovas were sent off.
