Karim Benzema officially said goodbye to the Madrid "Real" team after 14 years.
During the farewell ceremony, a curious incident occurred. The president of the royal club, Florentino Perez, mixed up the surname of football club legend Luka Modric with Luka Dončič, who spent the first years of his career in the "Real" basketball team.
"Karim's coach Ancelotti, his teammates, Nacho, Luka Dončič...Modric," - Florentino Perez corrected himself while naming the "Real" legends.
Everyone just laughed heartily at the incident, and the club president continued:
"An amazing story began 14 years ago. Karim, we saw you doing amazing things. We will never forget. You are one of the greatest legends. You were magnificent.
"Karim, you have stirred emotions in us over the years. You are an example to everyone. You are a leader. The whole world loves you. Fans will always be with you," Florentino Perez said.
In 14 years, K. Benzema scored 354 goals, made 165 assists, and won 25 trophies representing the "Real" team.
