Dutch clubs demand the country's football federation to end the 2019-20 season. In the Netherlands, like in most other countries, the football championship has been temporarily suspended. UEFA's position is that clubs should wait for the end of the pandemic, but not all teams support such an idea. The first in the Netherlands to speak out were the leaders of the Amsterdam "Ajax" club. Marc Overmars earlier this week even compared the country's football federation to Donald Trump. "Ajax" maintains the position that the season should simply be terminated. Soon, two other well-known clubs in the Netherlands supported this idea - AZ Alkmaar and PSV Eindhoven. In Europe, so far none of the major football championships have been terminated. Belgium was the only one to take decisive action, announcing the closure of the season.
