President Alfonso Solanso says that the team's forward David Villa may leave much earlier than expected. With the transfer almost certain to happen, it remains to sort out a few details.
Last season, Valencia's team experienced a real fiasco - after withdrawing from the UEFA Champions League already after the group stage matches, the team finished only 7th in the Spanish championship and will compete in the UEFA Intertoto Cup tournament next season.
After this failure, the team's helm was recently taken over by coach Quique Sanchez Flores, who started making changes. The first acquisition by the strategist was the Dutchman Patrick Kluivert, and it seems that soon his partner in the attack will be D.Villa, who scored 16 goals last season.
The buyout price of D.Villa's contract is 12 million euros and according to A. Solanso, "Valencia" can pay this amount immediately.
"Valencia" has presented us with an astronomical offer," he said. "Now we just need to be careful when looking for a player to replace D.Villa."
A. Solanso also said that the reserve goalkeeper of Madrid club, Cesar, will move to Zaragoza in the near future. In the team, the Spaniard should replace Cesar Laínez, who is planning to end his career due to a shin injury.
