The Telšiai "Džiugas," which started the "TOPsport A League" season excellently, later got seriously stuck but also finished the championship wonderfully. The representatives of the Žemaitija capital defeated the champion Vilnius "Žalgiris" at home 1:0 (1:0) in the match of the 36th round.

The Telšiai team took the lead as early as the 5th minute. After a long pass from Ibrahima Cisse, Christian Bella broke away from Joel Bopesu and scored his 5th goal of the season. In the 34th minute, the Cameroon legionnaire had a great opportunity to double the advantage, but his attempt was blocked by Myroslav Mazuras.

Nikola Petković was actively playing for "Žalgiris," forcing Marius Paukštė to work once, and in another episode, the Serb rushed to the ball first, although he failed to hit the target from a good position.

In the second half, the Žemaitija team could have scored a second goal. Dušan Marković stopped the attacks from Leif Estevez and Meinard Mikulėnas, while Nino Noordanus, who confused an opponent in the penalty area, sent the ball next to the post.

"Džiugas" ended the season with three consecutive victories, accumulating 42 points and, due to better head-to-head results, surpassed FA "Šiauliai," finishing the championship in sixth place – a record position for the club. The Žalgirisians concluded the championship with 79 points.
