"Manchester United" coach Jose Mourinho confirmed that defender Eric Bailly, who is recovering from a calf injury, will not play for up to three months.
The Ivory Coast national team member had a great start to the season and formed a solid partnership with Phil Jones, but now he will need surgery.
The 23-year-old footballer has not been seen on the pitch since November.
"He will have surgery. The decision has been made", Mourinho told "MUTV".
"I wouldn't say that he won't play for the rest of the season, but it will be for the next two or three months."
This season, Bailly managed to play only 10 matches in all competitions.
