From 2013, Edinson Cavani, who plays for the Paris Saint-Germain team, approaching season could be his last in the ranks of the French champions.
The contract of the 32-year-old Uruguayan will expire next summer, and the player himself is ready to stay in PSG until the end, although the services of the forward were also of interest to several other clubs.
"I have already talked about it during the last season. I promised not only to the fans but also to myself that I want to stay in PSG at least until the end of my current contract.
Maybe then my decision will be to return to Uruguay, but I promised myself to stay in Paris until the end of the agreement. I am confident about it. Of course, in football, not everything necessarily depends on you. You need to take into account both the expectations of the club and the fans," said E. Cavani in a conversation with "Le Parisien."
The Uruguayan national team player also revealed that negotiations with the club leaders for a new contract have not taken place yet.
"Honestly, I am not even thinking about it at the moment. So far, we have not talked about it with the club representatives.
PSG went through a rather difficult period at the end of last season, but now everything is slowly getting better. Maybe, after all of this, we will be able to discuss such a possibility," added E. Cavani.
The forward played 33 matches in the PSG team last season, during which he scored 23 goals and made 9 assists.
