"Kauno Žalgiris" football club has received another addition to the coaching staff. The assistant coach of the team's head coach Saulius Širmelis is now Eivinas Černiauskas.
The 39-year-old specialist spent the majority of his career in the ranks of Marijampolė's "Sūduva", with which he won the country's championship title three times, once won the LFF Cup, and twice - the Supercup. During his career at "Sūduva", E. Černiauskas has also temporarily taken on the duties of head coach.
In 2020, he had to work as an assistant in the same "Sūduva" team with the current head coach of "Kauno Žalgiris," Saulius Širmelis.
Later, in 2022, the Marijampolietis joined Vilnius' "Žalgiris" club, and at the beginning of 2024, he returned to Marijampolė, once again worked in the "Sūduva" system, and led "Sūduva B."
The new member of the "Kauno Žalgiris" coaching staff has played football himself and worn the jerseys of Marijampolė's "Sūduva" and Kaunas' "Atleto".
"Kauno Žalgiris'" club's next challenge awaits them on June 15 in an away match against Alytus' "Dainava."
