E. Maresca: "It's not Chelsea's problem that they can't retain academy players." © zumapress

The head coach of London's Chelsea club, Enzo Maresca, stated that the "Aristocrats" are not to blame for failing to retain Conor Gallagher and spoke about Nicolas Jackson:

"It is not Chelsea's problem that they cannot keep academy players... It is a rules problem.

Clubs are forced to sell players due to the rules. This is not an 'Aristocrats' problem, this is a Premier League issue."

"If we talk about a new forward, I see Nicolas Jackson in that position.

If we need him as a winger in some games, then that's how it will be... But I see him as a forward."
