E. Stankevičius: V. Ivanauskas - a very possible candidate

After the evaluation presented to the Lithuanian Football Federation and the poor results achieved by the national team under head coach Valdas Urbonas, discussions have started on who could take over this highly challenging position. The reputation of the team, known as the face of the country, is plunged into a stinking mire - with consecutive defeats, the team had not seen such a start to the year by any national team. Previous records belonged to Igor Pankratjevas and Edgaras Jankauskas' (both with 5) pupils. The most realistic candidate is said to be the famous striker Valdas Ivanauskas, who currently leads the Lithuanian U-19 national team. "The community already has its candidates. We will do everything in the near future - as early as next week, because time is pressing. LFF has already compiled a list of candidates and we plan to sit down with the contenders next week," - the words of LFF Secretary General Edgaras Stankevičius quoted by journalist Modestas Krukauskas from lrytas.lt. "This is certainly one of the very possible candidacies and a viable option," the secretary spoke about V. Ivanauskas.
