E. ten Hag: "Modern players take criticism as an offense" © AFP

Erik ten Hag lost his job at Manchester United in October and has not trained any team since.

During his time with Man Utd, the Dutchman had several conflicts with team players, most notably with Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho.

In an interview with SEG Stories, E. ten Hag stated that modern players struggle to accept criticism.

"Players of the current generation find it hard to take criticism. Players from my generation had 'thicker skin.'

It was possible to say everything directly to their faces. If I were to do that now, the players would be demotivated. Modern players take criticism as an insult," E. ten Hag said.
