Ernesto Valverde was not disappointed by the draw in the Spanish capital and added that he expects a similar performance from Ousmane Dembele in future matches.
Although O. Dembele appeared on the field only in the 80th minute, he became the hero of the match. "Atletico" took the lead after Diego Costa's goal, but the Frenchman scored a great goal in the 90th minute and prevented the opponents from pushing the Catalans out of the first position.
"Dembele is a great player with many good qualities, including the ability to score goals. The team must have such a specialist. Our local players must play aggressively, make risky decisions, and help the team in defense. Dembele has self-confidence, plays with both feet, giving him an advantage on the field," said E. Valverde after the match.
"There is a lot of talk about Dembele in the public, but we hope that he will bring us many more positive moments. His minutes on the field depend on how willing he is to work in training.
He was not called up for our last match, but we have to help him unleash his potential. He showed it today, but we expect even more from him, as he is a very talented player," the strategist added.
O. Dembele has scored seven goals and made two assists in 16 matches this season.
