E. Valverde reassures club fans: L. Messi's injury is not serious

Ernesto Valverde's "Barca" team managed to return to the path of victory, but Lionel Messi suffered another injury during the match against "Villarreal".

Starting the game in the lineup, the Argentinean felt pain in his calf towards the end of the first half. Initially, he was assisted by the club doctors, who helped him stand up and finish the first half.

However, despite his productive assist in the first 45 minutes, L. Messi did not return to the field in the second half, which seriously worried the club's fans.

After the match, E. Valverde stated that the substitution was made out of caution.

"When something happens to Lionel, the world stops," the coach said at the press conference. "It doesn't seem like the injury is serious. He probably just felt some discomfort in his calf muscle at that moment."

"He didn't return to the field just to be cautious and avoid more serious consequences," Valverde added.

Talking about the victory against "Villarreal", the coach said: "The most important thing was to win. We usually perform great at home, although today it was really hard."

"In the first half, we had moments when we played quite poorly. We have no problems in our field, but we would like to do the same when playing away," Valverde concluded.
