"Barcelona" coach Ernesto Valverde does not expect that the upcoming "El Clasico" showdown will be moved to the "Santiago Bernabeu" stadium.
On Tuesday, we reported that "La Liga" requested the Spanish Football Federation to move the match between Madrid's "Real" and "Barcelona" clubs on October 26 from "Camp Nou" to the "Bernabeu" stadium.
This request was made due to the political situation and clashes between Catalonia residents and the Spanish police. However, both "Real" and "Barca" refused to change the location of the match.
"We cannot imagine playing 'El Clasico' at the 'Santiago Bernabeu' stadium. We want to respect the schedule, and there are still nine days left until the match," Valverde said at a press conference.
It is said that the Spanish Football Federation will make a final decision tomorrow. There is a high probability that the match could be postponed until December.
