On Sunday evening, intriguing matches of the 10th round were played in the English Premier League.
At Anfield stadium, the leader of the country's championship, Liverpool, hosted the Tottenham footballers from London. A great start to the match for the visiting team from the capital did not bring a victory - the "Reds" responded with two goals in the second half and achieved an important victory with a score of 2:1.
At the beginning of the match, Liverpool's footballers tasted the "bitter pill" - almost in the first attack, Harry Kane put the visitors from the capital ahead. However, after the goal, Liverpool did not lose composure and put pressure on the Tottenham goal. In the first half, the guests did not break down, but the next 45 minutes were much more challenging.
At the beginning of the second half, H.M. Son had a chance to increase the Spurs' advantage, but after his shot hit, the ball once again shook the goal frame. The Tottenham team was soon punished with a goal - Jordan Henderson missed the penalty spot in the 52nd minute, after Spurs defenders pulled the ball out of their goal, and the scoreboard lit up with two ones: 1:1.
After the equalizing goal, Liverpool continued their dangerous attacks and one such attack in the 75th minute ended with a penalty kick into Gazzaniga's goal. Mohamed Salah, standing at the penalty spot, did not make a mistake and with a precise shot, he put Liverpool ahead.
At the end of the match, Tottenham tried to create pressure on the opponents' side of the field, but the hosts did not make mistakes and achieved their ninth victory out of ten possible in this English championship season.
Liverpool maintains a 6-point lead over their nearest pursuers, while Tottenham, with just one victory in the last five matches, drops to the 11th position.
