
On a late Friday evening, the qualifying matches for the 2016 European Football Championship were played. Iceland's national team in Group A continued to show its strength - they defeated the Czech Republic 2-1.
The Czechs took the lead in the 55th minute - Borek Dockal scored a goal for them. However, later in the match, the Icelanders took control - Aron Gunnarsson scored in the 60th minute, and Kolbeinn Sigthorsson sent the Czechs to knockout in the 76th minute.
In this group, the Latvians suffered a defeat, losing 0-2 to the Netherlands. This victory was very important for the latter to qualify for the competition.
In Group H, Italy drew 1-1 with Croatia away. During the break between halves, someone discovered a swastika on the pitch, so the match was briefly suspended.
