The opening match of the World Championship started with a bizarre incident - at the beginning of the match, for unclear reasons, the referee decided not to count the goal scored by Ecuador against the tournament hosts.
Infuriated by this action, one South American team's fan stood up from his seat at the Qatar stadium and began rubbing his fingers together, signaling "bribery."
The Ecuadorian player did not back down and was surrounded by numerous seated fans of the host team, one of whom even shouted: "Shut up and sit down!"
This moment became an internet sensation and received millions of views on Twitter alone.
Meanwhile, the Ecuadorian national team still managed to achieve victory in the match and beat Qatar 2-0.
