25-year-old Ecuador national team forward Otilino Tenorio died in a car accident on Saturday when he collided with a truck on the road from Quito to Guayaquil, reported the Ecuador Football Federation.
The incident occurred three days after the friendly match in New York, where the Ecuador national team defeated the Paraguayan footballers 1-0.
Tenorio was usually a substitute player in the Ecuador national team. This footballer was nicknamed "Spiderman" because of his impressive goal celebrations. He used to dance around the corner flag wearing a mask, which he took off from his shorts.
Tenorio began his career in the biggest Ecuadorian city, Guayaquil, at the "Emelec" club, where he started playing at the age of 11. He then went to play for the "Al Nassr" club in Saudi Arabia, but did not fit in and returned to his homeland. This year he was playing for the Quito "El Nacional" team.
Interestingly, his last three goals were scored against the "Emelec" club on March 11 of this year. By the way, the player did not perform his joy dance. Tenorio could not play this weekend in the Ecuadorian league match because he received a red card.
