Edgar Davids - at a crossroads of decision. The 33-year-old Dutchman must decide where he will spend his upcoming, probably last season of his career - at his current club or his hometown of Amsterdam.

"It's an extremely difficult decision," - said the midfielder. "I haven't made my final decision yet. It's because I like London - it's a great environment here and there are opportunities to achieve good results.

"At the end of a career, most players want to return home to play. The problem is that I am content in England. I have a contract with Tottenham for another year, so before deciding, I will have to consult with a few people."

Throughout his long career, E. Davids has played for clubs such as Ajax in Amsterdam and Turin. In 1995, wearing the jersey of the Amsterdam team, the footballer triumphed in the UEFA Champions League.

"We have a great team with players who undoubtedly have a bright future ahead of them. Even if we finish fourth this season, and London wins the Champions League, we will still play in European tournaments. Everyone wants to play in the most prestigious tournament, but the UEFA Cup matches wouldn't be bad either."

The veteran arrived in England last summer at the invitation of compatriot coach Martin Jol. E. Davids showed an impressive athletic form until the new year, but later suffered a serious injury that halted his successful season.
