Edmilson: "Depay" is not currently at a level to play for a better team

One of the leaders of the "Lyon" team, Memphis Depay, publicly stated back in January that he wants to move to a more famous club in the future.

The Dutch player, who used to play for "Manchester United", mentioned clubs like "Barcelona", "Real Madrid", "Man City", "Chelsea", or "Bayern" as potential destinations in his career.

However, former "Barcelona" player and "Ligue 1" ambassador Edmilson believes that M. Depay is currently not at the level to play for a better team than "Lyon".

"In today's football world, there are many negotiations and transfers happening. Teams like "Lyon" or "Marseille" have many good players, so it's normal for clubs like "Barcelona", "Real Madrid", or other big teams to try to find them here.

In my opinion, Depay is not at the level to play for a better team at the moment. There are other good players here, like Ndombele," said Edmilson.

This season, Memphis Depay played 38 matches for "Lyon", scoring 8 goals and providing 14 assists.
