"Roma" fans had to wait decades for their favorite team to reach the semifinals of the strongest European tournament again.
The last time it happened was in the 1983/84 season.
Scoring a goal in the 3-0 victory against "Barcelona," forward Edin Džeko celebrated reaching the Champions League semifinals.
"We showed our best game, but in the future, we may perform even more powerfully. We proved that we can play against any club, as "Barcelona" is a very strong team.
We scored three goals and could have scored more.
I've never seen "Barcelona" struggle so much - we pressured the opponents from the first minute," said the Bosnian.
"I hope we will also reach the final. Nobody believed in our chances, but for the first time (in the current format of the tournament - ed.), we will play in the semifinals. I am very happy that when I watch the draws, I will hear the name of "Roma" in the ceremony."
