Egyptian football ultras caused riots: 22 people died

In the Egyptian capital Cairo, mass unrest broke out before a football match, during which, according to preliminary data, 22 people died, reported "Al Jazeera". According to the Egyptian Ministry of the Interior, clashes between fans and police began at the "Zamalek" club stadium when members of the "Ultra White Knights" fan group tried to enter the stadium without paying for tickets. Fans claim that only one narrow door was opened at the army-owned stadium before the match, causing dissatisfaction. According to preliminary data, 22 people died, but the number of injured may increase. In the summer of 2012, 72 people died in clashes between fans and police in Cairo. Following the incident, officials banned the local football league for two years.
