The last three matches of the sixth round were played in the evening on Thursday in the Spanish "La Liga" championship.
The team of "Eibar" demonstrated an incredible fight and dedication at their stadium, erasing a two-goal deficit and sensationally achieving a victory against "Sevilla".
Julen Lopetegui's students initially played as if from a textbook - Lucas Ocampos scored the first goal for Andalusians in the 11th minute, and Oliver Torres increased the advantage at the end of the first half.
It seemed that it would only be a formality for the "Sevilla" team in the second half, but "Eibar" did not raise the white flag.
In the 65th minute, the first goal into the "Sevilla" goal was scored from the 11m mark by Fabian Orellana. The hosts did not stop at this crucial moment - in the 77th minute, they equalized the score after a severe mistake by the "Sevilla" goalkeeper, Pedro Leon.
Already thinking about an even result, the "Sevilla" team, which was expecting a two-goal advantage, was forced to think about a draw. However, the "Eibar" team did not allow the opponents to take even one point - in the 82nd minute, the hosts scored the winning goal from a penalty kick by Cote.
Having gone through the first four rounds without a loss, "Sevilla" now experienced their second consecutive failure. Meanwhile, for the "Eibar" team, this was their first victory of the season.
In other matches, the San Sebastian team "Real Sociedad" demonstrated excellent form in the season. "La Real" convincingly defeated "Alaves" with a score of 3:0.
The victory was led by goals from Wilian Jose and Mikel Oyarzabal.
"Real Sociedad" and "Atletico" both have 13 points, but due to a better goal difference, they are in a higher position. In the next round, the Basques will have the opportunity to become the sole leaders of the league if Madrid's "Real" loses points against "Atletico".
