Today, the second leg matches of the Lithuanian Football Federation Cup quarter-finals were played. The country's champion "Ekranas" secured a place in the semi-finals by defeating "Vėtra" with a minimal advantage, while "Sūduva", despite the setback against "Nevėžis", advanced to the semi-finals due to a resounding victory in the first match.
The match between "Ekranas" and Vilnius "Vėtra" took place in Panevėžys. After the first half, the Panevėžys team led 1-0. Mantas Savėnas scored a goal in the 30th minute. Neither team was able to score in the second half. "Ekranas" won the match 1-0 and advanced to the semi-finals. The Panevėžys team made it to the next round.
After the lost match, the head coach of Vilnius "Vėtra", Edgaras Gesas, admitted that the opponents deserved to win.
Meanwhile, in Kėdainiai, the second leg match was played between Kėdainiai "Nevėžis" and Marijampolė "Sūduva". This time, the victory with a score of 2-1 (1-0) was celebrated by the team from Kėdainiai, but the footballers of "Sūduva" advanced to the semis because they had won the first match 7-1.
