In the Lithuanian football "A-league" on Sunday, the postponed 14th round match took place where the championship leader "Kaunas" and its main opponent in the battle for the title of winners "Ekranas" met.
In the match held in Panevėžys, after a tough battle and a goal scored by M. Gardzijauskas in the last minute of the first half, the hosts celebrated victory.
This was already the third victory of "Ekranas" against "Kaunas" this season - Panevėžys team won in all three "A-league" matches. Meanwhile, in the quarterfinals of the cup, the teams played once in a draw, and the second time Kaunas triumphed after extra time.
Now in the league table, "Ekranas" is only three points behind the leading "Kaunas" and has played one match less. Right next to them, in third place, is Klaipėda's "Atlantas", which has so far lost four points more than both leaders.
