On January 21st, Panevezys "Ekranas" football players played their second friendly match at the "Daugava" stadium in Riga against another Latvian team - FK "Jurmala". The Panevezys team convincingly won with a score of 3-1 (2-1). It should be reminded that last weekend "Ekranas" also lost 1-3 to the team of Liepaja "Metalurgs" in Riga.
"Ekranas" began the match actively and already in the 5th minute took the lead. After Mantas Savenas lifted the corner kick, Arunas Klimavicius successfully sent the ball to the goal guarded by former Lithuanian national team player Gintaras Stauch. In the 31st minute, again after a corner kick from "Ekranas" captain M. Savenas, Aurimas Kucys overcame the goalkeeper of "Jurmala" with a header. In the 45th minute of the match, the opponents softened the score. Vitalij Tuzinevskij scored a goal into Arvydas Skrupskis' goal. The first half ended 2 : 1. In the 72nd minute of the match, Donatas Petrauskas, who appeared on the field in the second half, scored. Again after M. Savenas' pass into the penalty area, D. Petrauskas redirected the ball into the goal of "Jurmala" and solidified "Ekranas" advantage at 3 : 1.
According to the head coach of FK "Ekranas" Virginijus Liubsys: "It was a lively and beautiful match. The team played well and won. We were lucky to take advantage of set-piece situations, and that's how the first goals were scored. I am glad that we played on a great field, so the game was very different from the first match in Riga against "Metalurgs" when we played indoors - under a roof and on artificial turf. It had an impact on the quality of our game. We allowed the young players to play in the second half, and I am happy that the changes didn't affect the quality of the game, and Donatas Petrauskas even scored a goal."

On Monday, "Ekranas" will travel to a training camp in Palanga, where on Thursday they will once again play friendly matches against Latvian vice-champions "Liepaja "Metalurgs" team."
