“Championship” regular season ended dramatically.

“Millwall” lost 3:4 to “Blackburn Rovers” team and missed the chance to fight for a spot in the Premier League. Meanwhile, “Blackburn” team earned the same amount of points as “Sunderland”, but due to a worse goal difference, they ended up in seventh, outside the playoffs.

“Sunderland” crushed “Preston” team 3:0 away and will play against “Luton Town” in the playoffs.

Before the playoffs semifinals, a replay took place at the “Riverside” stadium, where “Middlesbrough” drew 1:1 with “Coventry City” team.

Earlier, “Burnley” and “Sheffield United” secured their spots in the Premier League.

Meanwhile, “Blackpool”, “Wigan”, and “Reading” teams are relegated to the third division. Points were deducted from these teams during the season due to poor financial situations.

“Huddersfield Town” team, where Lithuanian scout Linas Treigys works, maintained their place in the Championship, with the legendary Neil Warnock temporarily taking over the team.
