During the qualification match for the 2024 European Championship held on Thursday evening, English footballers defeated the Italian team in Group C with a score of 2:1.
The English national team built a two-goal advantage during the first half. Declan Rice scored in the 13th minute, and Harry Kane converted a penalty kick in the 44th minute.
In the second half, the Italians tried to get back into the game and reduced the deficit to one goal in the 56th minute after Mateo Retegui's precise shot.
In the 80th minute, English defender Luke Shaw received his second yellow card and the visitors were left playing with ten men. Nevertheless, they managed to hold on to the victory.
