“Liverpool” team on Monday evening achieved an important victory in the English Premier League, defeating “Newcastle United” at home with a score of 4:2.
One of the key contributors to the victory was Diogo Jota, who made a valuable assist shortly after coming on as a substitute and earned a penalty kick at the end of the match.
It was this particular incident that received criticism from English football pundits and former players, as they were not impressed by D. Jota's fall after minimal contact with Martin Dubravka.
I’ll never understand how and why this was given as a penalty to Liverpool.

If anything Diogo Jota should have been given a yellow card for simulation.pic.twitter.com/RheyaDm89R
“The player falls in the penalty area instead of sending the ball into an empty net. Now I have seen everything,” former player Ian Wright wrote on his social media account.
D. Jota's actions also did not impress legendary Newcastle player Alan Shearer: “What an impressive dive,” he wrote.
Former Chelsea and England national team player John Terry also expressed his opinion, regretting that VAR did not overturn the awarded penalty.
“How is that a penalty kick? Shocking simulation. The worst part is that VAR did not change the decision,” wrote the Chelsea legend.
