Reports in the English press suggest that the young Gareth Bale from Wales, who is currently wearing the team's jersey, has become a target of four major English Premier League clubs.
Teams like Chelsea, Man Utd, Arsenal, and Liverpool are interested in the defender who plays in the position. Southampton club has decided to sell G. Bale during the January transfer window and could expect to receive around £13 million.
Southampton's head coach George Burley spent £7 million this summer to upgrade the team.
Club president Michael Wilde explained in an interview with The Daily Mirror: "£7 million is not a small amount for a club like ours. Whether we will buy something in January will depend on whether we sell something."
The 17-year-old defender, who made his debut for the Wales national team last month against Slovakia and became the youngest player ever to play for the country, has caught the eye of Arsenal's head coach Arsene Wenger.
