English press: J.Vardy plays in the midst of attacks

Without injured Wayne Rooney, who suffered a minor injury, the captain's armband for the England national team match against Lithuania should be entrusted to goalkeeper Joe Hart.

The 29-year-old J. Hart belongs to the "Man City" club, but this season he has been loaned to the Italian "Torino" team.

"It was the coach's decision. The captain's armband is an important thing. However, with him or without him - the fans always expect the best performance from you," said the goalkeeper.

In the World and European Championship qualifiers, the England national team last stumbled in October 2009 in Ukraine. The "Three Lions" team has not lost in the last 33 qualifying matches in a row, so they hope to continue this streak on Sunday at Wembley Arena.

"The only goal on Sunday will be to defeat the Lithuanian team," said J. Hart.

In the last friendly match against the Germans (0:1), England national team coach Gareth Southgate tried out the tactical scheme 3-4-3.

However, watching their own training sessions, English journalists concluded that against the Lithuanians, their team will play in a 4-1-4-1 formation. Jamie Vardy should be up front in attack, with Raheem Sterling and Jesse Lingard attacking from the wings.

The newspaper "Daily Mail" tried to predict who will appear in the opponents' ranks on Sunday. According to the English, Edgaras Jankauskas will not bring any surprises and will choose players who have been tested in previous qualifying matches. And a new central defensive duo is said to be formed by Linas Klimavicius and Tomas Mikuckis.

It should be noted that the previous central defensive duo was disrupted by Edvinas Girdvainis suffering a kidney injury, and George Freidgeim collecting cards.
