The police had to use tear gas, water cannons, and other means at the Eiffel Tower, where about 90,000 people were watching the match in the Fan Zone.
It is reported that the police were vigilant and prepared immediately after the unrest in Marseille during the clash between Russia and England, where 35 people were injured.

Riots broke out after some fans simply did not fit into the Fan Zone. They vented their dissatisfaction with aggressive behavior.
After the French defeat, the riots continued. Hooligans attacked police forces, set fires. There were injuries.
