EURO 2016 qualifiers - the first Lithuanian defeat

On Sunday evening, the last October month qualifiers for the 2016 European Championship were played at the LFF Stadium.

Having been unbeaten so far, the Lithuanian national team suffered their first defeat. Igoris Pankratjevas' players lost 0-2 to visitors from Slovenia.

All goals were scored in the first half. In the 33rd minute, after unreliable defending, the Slovenians were led ahead by 35-year-old striker Milivoje Novakovic.

A few minutes later, Novakovic scored another easy goal and ultimately crushed the Lithuanians, who could have taken the lead in the 18th minute, but Karolis Chvedukas unnecessarily touched the ball at the goal line and a foul was called.

Despite the defeat, Lithuania remains in second place, but along with the Slovenians, they have each collected 6 points.
