EURO 2024: Italians break record goal against Albanians

In Group B of the European Championship, there was a fierce battle between the teams of Italy and Albania.

The defending champions of the old continent, Italians, after a fierce fight, defeated formally one of the weakest teams of the tournament 2:1.

The match started with a record goal - already in the 23rd second of the match, N. Bajrami took advantage of F. Dimarco's mistake throwing the ball from outside the box and left no chance for G. Donnarumma (0:1). This is the fastest goal in the history of the tournament.

Having suffered a setback, the champions did not falter.

In the 11th minute, after a great combination, A. Bastoni headed the ball into the goal and equalized the score (1:1).

The Italians continued their attack and in the 16th minute, N. Barella turned the result with a long-range shot - 2:1.

D. Frattesi and G. Scamacca wasted opportunities in the 33rd and 40th minutes.

In the second half, the Albanians failed to seriously threaten the opponents' goal, while the Italians did not take too many risks.

The match ended with a 2:1 victory for L. Spalletti's pupils.
