Euro2004: Referees for the first twelve matches © EuroFootball.com

European Football Association (UEFA) has announced the referees appointed for the first twelve Euro-2004 matches. The twelve referees officiating in the tournament have each received one match so far.

In the opening match, where the tournament hosts Portugal will face Greece, the field referee will be the best in the world, Italian Pierluigi Collina. In Sunday's clash between France and England, the referee will be German Markus Merk.
