On Monday, the selection for the 2022 FIFA World Cup continued. A true drama took place in Latvia, where our neighbors, at the last moment, lost 1-2 to the guests from Turkey. All the main events of the match happened at the very end. In the 70th minute, the Latvians took the lead after Merih Demiral redirected the ball into his own goal. The result was equalized by Serdar Dursun after six minutes. The Turks simply overwhelmed the Latvian goal at the end of the match and it eventually bore fruit. Already during the referee's added time after a VAR review, a penalty was awarded to the Latvian goal, which was converted by Burak Yilmaz, and the Turks celebrated a vital victory. Scoring three points allows the Turks to continue realistically thinking about the fight for a place in the upcoming FIFA World Cup.
