Europa League gold - third consecutive year in the hands of "Sevilla" (VIDEO)

On the evening the most important match of the UEFA Europa League season took place. The winner of the tournament, who secured a ticket to the Champions League, was determined at the Basel St. Jakob Park stadium. In the final, the two-time reigning champion club, Sevilla, battled against Liverpool, who had eliminated several favorites in the competition. The first half of the match started evenly, but as it progressed, the English representatives increased the pressure and began launching more dangerous attacks. Eventually, the ball found its way into the opponent's goal after a fantastic strike by Daniel Sturridge, leaving goalkeeper Soria with no chance. It is worth mentioning that Sevilla players handled the ball in their penalty area at least three times, but none of those incidents were noticed by the referee. Liverpool also managed to score a second goal after a corner kick, but Daniel Lovren's shot was disallowed as Sturridge, stationed in the offside position, obstructed the opponent's goalkeeper. However, the scenery changed significantly after the break. Just 18 seconds into the second half, Kevin Gameiro capitalized on a precise pass from Mariano to equalize for Sevilla. The score was now 1-1. Liverpool's eleven couldn't recover in the second half, and after just over an hour of play, Sevilla's captain Coke put his team ahead. Shortly after, Coke scored again unexpectedly from a loose ball in the penalty area, sealing the victory for Unai Emery's team. Sevilla became the only team to win the Europa League three times in a row. Result: Liverpool 1 - 3 Sevilla [1-0] 35' Daniel Sturridge [1-1] 46' Kevin Gameiro [1-2] 64' Coke [1-3] 70' Coke
