On Thursday, the UEFA Europa League second qualifying round battles began. In this stage, the only Lithuanian club "Atlantas" from Klaipėda faced off against "Shakhter" from Karaganda.
The first match took place at the Klaipėda city stadium, where the spectators did not see any goals and the teams ended in a draw.
In the first half, the Klaipėda team had to fend off the opponent's attacks, but as the half progressed, the game leveled out.
In the second half, the Klaipėda team had a great opportunity to take the lead. T.Eliošius passed the ball to D.Kazlauskas on the wing, who then crossed the ball into the penalty area. Bartkus, who received the ball, hit the crossbar.
During the second half, "Atlantas" attacked dangerously, but they were unable to change the score.
The second match between "Atlantas" and "Shakhter" will take place on July 24th, but this time the team from Klaipėda will have to compete in Kazakhstan.
